Review:
A nice addition to the Crystal Cat Library with over two and a half hours of listening pleasure on this two disc set. Let's start with the package. CC has continually set the bar for incredible aesthetics. This one is no different. As a friend of mine said: "Are you kidding me? Look at this cover photo!  With this artwork the discs could be blank for all I would care!" A booklet is included along with a two sided photo card insert that has a great concert shot on one side and the Euro tour schedule on the other. The package is superb. My only complaint would be the silk screen discs. While better than the old standard clock discs, CC has elected to use a photo image editor program called Find the edge. Each disc contains a photo of Dylan, but the process has turned them into something scary. As for the recording, incredible as always, though perhaps a slight notch down from the usual CC. Virtually the same thing can be said for he performance. Cat's In The Well kicks the show off to a strong beginning, but All Along The Watchtower finishes it off weak. Throughout the show there are hits and misses, but a lot more hits. Breath taking versions of Nettie Moore and Just Like a Woman are just two of the many highlights. The bonus tracks include their own highlights with a beautiful Simple Twist Of Fate and a great quality recording of the tour's only performance of Sugar Baby. While not a must have release, you definitely won't be disappointed by this offering. © 2008 CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com

Notes:
Düsseldorf is one of nine new 2007 releases from Crystal Cat Records. They span the European leg of the 2007 tour from late March to early May. As always, Crystal Cat follows an aesthetic theme with each release. This years releases include vibrant photos with stunning close up concert photos of Bob for the front covers, and silk screen printed discs with photos of Bob manipulated with an artsy program tool called Find the edge.
