Review:
Crystal Cat has fallen prey to that of many inexperienced manufacturers. When producing a piece from analog masters, the high end is left artificially exaggerated with the knowledge that the low end frequencies will be inadvertently boosted in the mastering process. The trick is in knowing where that balance will lie in the future mix. Too little high end boost and the overall finished sound will be too boomy. This CD exhibits the other extreme. The high end has been pushed so far that the resulting sound is hard to listen to. The vocals have thinned out, the music has lost many mid, and most low end frequencies. Very sad too, considering that this is one of the nicer looking packages around. The photos, collage, graphics, and overall aesthetics are superb. Interestingly, the filler material has a great sound. However, it doesn't warrant the cost of this two CD package. Instead, the fill material can be found on the CD "Never Mind the Bollocks... Here's Bob Dylan"
