The only thing that lets this label down is the lack of imagination when it comes to their titles (and some front covers). The packaging here is slightly less attractive than ‘…Docks’, though still far superior when compared to earlier TMR releases. It's worth getting for the performance of Desolation Row alone. That's not to say that the rest of the performance isn't top notch... it is. The bonus track appears on ‘By The Waterfront Docks’, but I think that's because this release was in production before TMR was planning the release of the full Hamburg shows (hence the earlier catalog number). Nonetheless, another fine release from TMR, and highly recommended. © 2004 CD Pikerton / bobsboots.com |
