The sound is warm and natural while still being clean and easily understood. Bob is powerful and brooding as he delivers an intense performance. Sheryl Crow appeared as guest artist on the 19th, and it is added here as a bonus. She also contributed guitar and vocals to Highway 61, but that doesn't appear on this set. The package aesthetics are fair on the front cover, but amateurishly simple on the back. The title track is an Elizabeth Cotten penned tune that was a Dylan favorite for the first part of the year, but this is the one and only performance of it during the winter tour. © 2003 Craig Pinkerton Bobsboots.com |
