His Gotham Ingress

Several people, from time to time, have asked the meaning of this subtitle. Is it a foreign phrase? Some code, or word play? Naw..... It's actually very simple and straight forward. A 'Gotham' is a large metropolis... and by implication has been used many times to refer to New York City in Particular. 'Ingress' simply means 'To enter'. So, to paraphrase  the subtitle, it  becomes:
"Bob Dylan Enters NYC"

As the material on this LP is the 1963 Carnegie Hall  show, this is one of Bob's first 'big' shows in the Big Apple. That's the story.
