The 1965 Free Trade Hall show from Manchester, U.K. is one of the best
sounding recordings in existence of mid '60's Dylan.
1965 concert soundboard recordings are rare to non-existent.
Yet, this pristine soundboard's quality sounds as if it could have been
recorded yesterday. A truly amazing show in all aspects.

Information:
This incredible 1990 package is one of the last releases for Germany's
Swingin' Pig Records. It was simultaneously released on CD as well.
As with most Swingin' Pig titles, the quality of both sound and packaging
is impressive. A beautiful period concert photo adorns the entire front
of the gatefold cover. The rich looking gold print on a black cover
lists the songs on the back, and details of the venue on the inside gatefold.
To complete the aesthetics, the two LP set is pressed on multi-colored
marble vinyl with full printed silver on black labels.
The Manchester recording was processed with the NoNOISE
computer
based noise reduction system for this release. While the perfectly quiet
recording is jaw-dropping near-perfection, there is a slight mute to the
high-end that most will never notice without the benefit of the pre-masterd
tape for comparison. I've given the set a 9.5 star rating because of this
technicality... Without knowledge of the original master tape, it would
have received a perfect 10 star rating.
