Several songs have a few mumbled / forgotten words. The vocal harmonies soar into the land of The Band on Forever Young, but Dylan fumbles the lyrics in the beginning. Bob cryptically dedicates The Times once again to Minnesota senator Paul Wellstone, who had died the previous week in a tragic plane crash. TMR has toned down the title fonts somewhat, and the result is a much more aesthetically pleasing overall look to the package. The title is taken from the long introduction for this show. The filler is well chosen songs of two days prior. The efficiency of this Japanese Label shows in releasing this title only days after the concert. Note: In reading reviews of the few concerts between Senator Wellstone's death and the St. Paul concert, I learned that Bob was playing "The Times...." and then immediately after the song, saying that it was for Senator Wellstone. In St. Paul, Bob apparently forgot to say his dedication immediately after the song, so he said it several songs later. Allan Klugman Right before High Water, Bob says: "Thank ya everybody. I played the "Times They Are A Changin" awhile back for my man --- he reached the end of the road up there in Eveleth ."By the way, Eveleth is about 30 miles from Bob's childhood home of Hibbing, Minnesota. © 2003 CD Pinkerton bobsboots.com |
