Review:
Finally, a silver release of this great package that was released as a CDR set by Doberman in 2004. The silkscreen printed CDs are all identical except for the catalog numbers. The image on the discs are all alike. It is of a great looking early Columbia 78 RPM record label. You can read about it and view it online.
The front cover photo is beautiful, but there's little else included. Not a lot of frills here, but there are four discs running over with Glasgow and the 2004 highlights. Each CD runs about an hour and fifteen minutes. The theme and music was taken directly from the Doberman release, and sounds every bit as good. Scotland's oldest university, the University of St Andrews near Edinburgh made Dylan an honorary doctor of music at its summer graduation ceremony on June 23, 2004. The title is taken from the previous release as well. It plays well with the theme of Bob receiving a degree. It's from the song This Wheel's On Fire that Bob had played the previous day at Newcastle. This set presents the entire concert from the Barrowland in Glasgow. This small venue was perhaps the best show of the tour. The audience sang along with a few of the songs, and they become stately anthems. The other 2½ discs are filled with alternate songs that were performed during the two shows prior, and the two shows after the Barrowland.
