Thanks to Joe McMullen for scans A great CD set that hits some highlights of the Fall 2000 US University shows. While many would prefer entire shows, there are quite a few redundants were one to collect every venue. This is a good sampler that captures many surprises. Mr. Tambourine Man is one highlight, as Dylan holds out the first word of each line in a unique phrasing. Also included is the only known performance of Blue Bonnet Girl, and the first ever outing of the decade old 10,000 Men. The sound quality has an amazing consistency, considering the many different venues. On the CD-r version that we reviewed, the song intros and extros were not edited to flow together, nor to fade in and out. As a result, there were obvious breaks between songs. It is not known whether these breaks are on the original silver disc, but most likely they are not. The package aesthetics are super. The color photos and CD are deep and rich. The one poo-poo is the very unflattering photo used for the CD and tray liner. It's a little unsettling to me. © 2001 Dr. CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com |
