It kicks off with a reworked, jaunty version of All Along The Watchtower. A slowed down Positively 4th Street highlights the electric set, but it's the acoustic performances that steal the show. A truly menacing Masters Of War incorporates the dueling guitars of Bob and Larry that accompany the lyrics perfectly. The same can be said for Don't Think Twice. The two traditional songs balance the setlist nicely. Even the bad sing along from the audience to Forever Young adds a sweet touch somehow. It makes you wish you were there. Do the second best thing, and get your hands on a copy of this great performance. The packaging is simple, but eye-catching. The sound quality is crisp and clear. As the disc is over 71 minutes presenting the main show, the two encore songs, Love Sick and Rainy Day Women don't appear due to time restraints. They can be found on the two disc set entitled Stars from the Darkest Night. This set could have easily rated 9 stars were it not for the fact that during Tangled Up In Blue there must have been a bit of tweaking from the bootlegger... the sound quality changes © 2006 Chris Verkroost - CD Pinkerton - bobsboots.com |
