Review: by: Mike McGarr The complete show from Asheville 2001. An excellent audience recording, with clear, upfront vocals; and nicely separated instrumentation. Very dynamic and well defined. The audience is lively, but the music dominates the recording to such an extent that it doesn't become a distraction. A superb show, (the tracklist speaks for itself) and the performances are first-rate. The packaging is beautiful. Glossy four-panel gatefold digipak on this one, with clear trays, silk-screened discs, and some nice photos on the inside. Excellent, smart aesthetics. The only complaint I can find is that the discs are somewhat misleadingly identified as 'The Acoustic Disc' (disc one) and the 'Electric Disc' (disc two). An excellent set, and highly recommended. © 2001 Craig Pinkerton Bobsboots.com |
