Review:
The title of this commercial CD-r comes from a Shirley Poston review of the concert published in the October 1965 issue of 'Beat' magazine. The review is reprinted in the included booklet. There are great images and photos to be found throughout. The only thing that doesn't quite match the superior aesthetics is the cover. A grainy event photo is meant to capture the feel of the Blood On The Tracks cover. Instead, it comes across as simply a bad, grainy photo.
This same tape was also released by Dandelion as "From Newport To...." with the addition of select Newport tracks.

The Show:
The newly surfaced Hollywood Bowl tape is every bit as fascinating as had been rumored.
The acoustic set is breath-taking perfection. The electric set doesn't 'roar' quite as loud as it will in the year to follow, but that's what makes it so wonderful. It shows an artist testing the waters for the onslaught to come. This show is both historic, and wonderful listening.
